So, you’re planning a micro-wedding? An intimate guest count does not mean you have to skip the design aspects of a traditional wedding day. In fact, this often provides more room in any wedding budget to get creative and splurge on your wedding decor or specialty vendors. We brought together a lovely team of local Tennessee vendors to create this modern and romantic micro-wedding day! This dreamy design included a neutral color palette, an abundance of fresh florals, and metallic gold details. The contrast of our downtown Maryville industrial venue with the romantic aesthetic was so stunning. We can’t wait to share more about this event with you today!
Ceremony Design
To begin the design process, we worked with our vendor team to set up the ceremony site. A lush floral display with fresh greenery naturally cascaded down the exposed brick walls at our venue. Romantic lighting, chandeliers, and drapery highlighted the ceremony backdrop. We finalized the modern decor with 36 Chiavari chairs completed with satin sashes.
The Details
Custom acrylic signs with gold calligraphy welcomed guests to the event. A modern lounge area leading the bar maximized the venue space. This was a wonderful place for guests to relax and enjoy a cocktail throughout the wedding. We love the creativity that each event offers! The gold and white bar featured another custom-made sign listing the drink menu. A grand hanging floral arrangement completed the bar design. Fresh greenery lined the window displays above each cocktail table.
The Dress and Tux
We focused on a modern and elegant inspiration for the bride and groom’s fashion! The bride wore a lustrous satin gown with a v-neckline, fitted bodice, and fluffy skirt. As a bonus, the dress even had pockets! For hair and makeup, a romantic braid and natural glam created a minimalistic beauty look. Simple beaded accessories and a neutral bouquet completed the stunning bride’s style. The groom wore a classic black tux completed with a fresh floral boutonniere to match the bride’s bouquet.
Tabletop Decor
For the intimate reception, the vendor team featured a combination of round guest tables and family-style seating. Each table was decorated with delicate chiffon linen, romantic candles, and mini floral garlands. Layered gold-rimmed glassware and various shaped plates were placed at each table setting. Black flatware added extra interest to the design along with springs of fresh greenery. A personalized name card added the final detail to the modern design.
Food and Dessert
Charcuterie boards are a popular wedding trend that we hope to continue to see! Guests snacked on the various charcuterie boards before transitioning to the plated reception dinner. A small tiered cake with gold leaf detail was almost too pretty to eat for dessert. For extra sweet treats, we opted for a dessert bar. This is a great option to consider for smaller events. Order your dream cake in a scaled-back size and then feature extra dessert options for guests. That way, you can still capture the classic cake cutting photo moment. From decorated cookies to donuts, there was something for everybody to enjoy!
