Today we are going on a safari! Here at White Star Station, we host a wide range of events outside of weddings. We were so excited to host this imaginative kids’ birthday party full of adventure. Our industrial venue space transformed into a jungle escape decorated with everything from a balloon arch to vining greenery. This was an event that the kids and adults had a blast at! Ready to go on a jungle safari? Let’s begin!
Party Decor
For this kids’ birthday party, we wanted the fun to start as soon as guests arrived. With the help of one of our favorite local event planners, Darla Walker, this design went all out! Safari tents, jungle foliage, and cute animal figures decorated our venue space. Not to mention one of the stars of the show, the balloon arch! This is a great way to fill up extra space for a birthday party. They are available in so many colors and designs. We recommend hiring a professional vendor for this eye-catching piece like Above the Rest Balloons.
Guest Tables
For kids’ parties, it is important to provide seating that factors in the kids’ ages in attendance. You might also want to offer decorated tables for the adults. For this birthday party, we utilized our round guest tables, a long farmhouse-style table, and a shorter long table. There was an option for everyone in attendance and this added an extra dimension to the party aesthetic.
The round adult table was decorated with textured wicker chargers, jungle green linens, and gold lanterns. We love the addition of the earth tone glassware from All Occasions Party Rentals for this design. The kids’ tables added a bit more color with cute non-breakable place settings. The canteens even doubled as favors!
Lounge
For another sitting area, this tent lounge was a major hit. Our modern vintage style furniture from the venue sat under another safari themed tent. Of course we can’t forget about the greenery. What a fun space to relax!
Snacks & Treats
Get ready for the ultimate snack & treat displays! Serving a variety of easy-to-eat snacks instead of a full meal can be a good option for kids’ birthday parties. They can grab bites as they prefer between the birthday activities. Arrange the treats for your selected theme for extra fun. We still recommend hiring a local caterer like Moonshine and Suppertime to ensure a professional display!
Smash Cakes
Pro tip: Feature a dessert bar and then order a small smash cake just for the celebrated birthday kid! These are perfect for some unforgettable photo moments and memories. At this party, there were multiple smash cakes!
Activities
This jungle safari birthday party included plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained! Here is a list of ideas to include at your next birthday party:
- Face Painting: For this party, each child got their face painted inspired by a jungle animal!
- Bounce Castle: A classic option that won’t disappoint!
- Balloon Art: This is another cute entertainment/favor option.
- Photo Booth: Think about areas of your venue that needs more decor. Use this as the photo booth!
- Adopt a Pet: This is perfect for this theme! Have each child choose a stuffed animal to ‘adopt’ and they can take them home as favors.
